Review: Singularity

Singularity is a sci-fi shooter game that was released recently. This game is slightly based on the likes of games in the same genre like Bioshock and Half-Life 2.

This game introduces a first person shooter and is all about blasting hideous and monstrous mutants with quite a wide range of swanky guns and weapons. You get to perform with a good amount of manipulation powers. You just go about killing these mutants and species in the story mode.

Throughout the game, you won’t feel the need for pausing as it is quite addictive. The fictitious Russian island Katogra-12 is the epicenter of all this action. You play the part of Nate Renko a modern day pilot who lands on this island to investigate the cause of radioactivity there. Cool gizmos are available as you progress through the game like the Time Manipulation Device which takes you to different eras and the enemies in those eras. It’s just fun shooting these monsters.

On the flipside, there are quite a few drawbacks too associated with this game. Visuals are quite outdated and some minor glitches spoil the fun to an extent. These things make you wonder that the makers should have spent some more time in correcting them before releasing the game. Background score is quite eerie and reflects on the nature of the game. The pace is excellent as there are no drags with diverse level designs and different type of enemies and special powers available to you. Sound effects are quite good with a healthy amount of gore adding to the fun! The multiplayer option is also compiled to give an interesting play with enough maps and modes. You have the option of either being the creature (enemy) or the soldier in this mode. This game may not be a groundbreaking shooter style game but it is still incredibly fun to play as it provides ample amount of gore and good pace.
