Dawn of War 2

Dawn of War 2 is a PC real time strategy game that has an excellent one player campaign that will draw you in and get you involved with the characters you are using as well the provide RPG elements that keep you coming back for more as you level up, increase your skill and take on ever increasingly large waves of enemies.
The one player campaign is focused around an open star systems where you can travel to planets and complete a mission of your choosing each day. Some of these missions can become repetitive but for the most part they are fun. The strategy and play is exciting and tense, and if you purchase the Chaos Rising expansion then your characters and the choices that you made in the first game will carry on over.
Graphically it is very impressive and is best played on a large, powerful desktop system. I, however, played it on a cheap secondhand laptop that I bought in the states and it was good enough for me.
While Dawn of War 2 is a great game in itself, the Chaos Rising expansion adds in a whole new campaign to play and irons out a lot of the game play issues that plagued the first game. It also adds a whole new race, Chaos, to the play online, and to be honest the online play is what DoW2 is all about.
The online play is fiercely competitive and brutal to begin with but incredibly addictive and fulfilling with time. You can chose one of four races each with three different heroes to play in either 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 or Free for All games. Despite the poor matchmaking presented by Games for Windows Live, it is still a great gaming experience and one that has swallowed hundreds of hours of my time.
